DAPW (Duvet and Pillow Warehouse) was creating a line of witty and humourous clips as part of their viral campaign- I worked on the graphics for this particular
piece, which I had to come up with 8 posters with typical marketing aesthetics. They had to be elegant...but designed to be “badly designed”.

Working alongside the creative director of the project at Pentagram UK, I came up with 8 pieces of visuals which were then used in the shooting of the clips. The 8 posters were a tongue-in-cheek representation of typical marketing strategies, and include intentional design decisions to typeset the text and layout.

HandBound is an exploration into the intricate links between human flesh and the book as an object. Using lasercutting, I carved handles in loose sheets of paper- they become bound books when held together by a 'human binding' and fall apart when the user halts the process.

LAFASE Partners is a specialized advisory firm that offers hands-on business development, corporate and joint venture related services in emerging economies. I was hired to design a brand identity that captured "a breath of fresh air" and portrayed LAFASE partners as a company with a wealth of experience and wisdom to assist expansion "into new soil".

My exploration took shape of narratives and playful iconography, focusing on the concept of tree rings that each represent what LAFASE stands for.

<description>During my work in the bookbinding room i became intrigued with the defining the book. A book could come in different
forms yet achieves the original intention of a c folio of text/information. The idea that you can wear a book and read it as a
private activity made me create small books to function as rings, necklaces and hairpins.

<description>Using the pantone colour chart as a starting point, I treated hues as content, and studied the informative arrangement
of the colour chart.I then applied the organisational aspects of the colour chart to creating a colour aid for silkscreen
printers. I investigated the differences between adding paste and white to 25 hues and how it affects the brightness and
purity of the colours.

This colour aid of 120 different colours is meant to be a tool for screenprinters to be able to overlap and mix different transparencies of hues to
help them understand better how to mix the type of colour they want.

<description>Eat/Go is an investigation of the intimate relationship between reading and daily human rituals. We spend a staggering
amount of time in our lives eating and traveling from one place to another. During this ritual activity we often engage in
reading, despite reading being a very private activity. I have produced a series of objects that make a statement on our
way of life.

The first object is a book sleeve to disguise the book we are actually reading. Often with a glance, people judge others
by the kind of book they read. By having an official jacket of a reputable book cover, We can read whatever we fancy
and feel secured at all times.

The second object is a book sleeve to conceal the title of books we read. This is tailored for commuters who feel
uncomfortable having to share the contents of the book they are reading with others. Once the title is concealed, the text
block becomes anonymous.

The third object is a plate with conversational topics mapped on it. This dish is suitable for diners who have trouble
holding a polite conversation with guests.

<description>Sleep is an investigation of the intimate relationship between reading and daily human rituals. In this fast-moving world
we have to extract time for relaxing activities and even so we limit ourselves to relaxing before we have to sleep. In one of
the pages the word 'sleep' creeps slowly into the text. In another, I merged a scientific report into the text by inserting
words, then sentences and paragraphs to force the reader to feel sleepy.

		<description>

While working for The Green Thing, a public service full of creative collaborations to raise awareness for
climate change, there was an opportunity to create a campain for ‘Walk the Walk’, which was a movement to encourage people to walk more instead of using the car.

Working with creative director Naresh Ramchandani, I co-wrote the script and art directed the production of ‘Born to Walk’, a stopmotion animation depicting someone ‘walking through life’, from crawling as a baby, staggering like a teenager, to leaping like an adult.

The campaign was released in 2010.

Supported by The Green Thing
Directed by: Sarah Cai
Voiced by: Sarah Cai
Script: Naresh Ramchandani &#38; Sarah Cai
Assisted by: Anastasia Mara, Becky Miller, Vic Patel, Anett Reiche, Marcos Dangas
